Buying it is only one part of the gift
A gift may need an idea, a purchase, wrapping and mailing. Use separate checklist tasks for those steps, with names and details in the Notes field. Use the Gifts expense category to record what you actually paid.

Record the purchase separately
| Expense title | Category | Paid |
|---|---|---|
| Ana’s gift | Gifts | $24.00 |
The expense and checklist tasks are entered separately. Completing a task does not create a payment.
Organize gifts with the features included

Keep the little steps visible
A purchased gift can still be waiting to be wrapped or mailed. Separate tasks help you see what you still intend to do, while the expense record keeps the payment in your budget.
Use the checklist and expense tracker to give gift planning a place.
This feature is included in Ms. Santa’s Checklist, alongside the journal, calendar, meal planner and expense tracker.
